Ng Xi Jie (Salty) is from the tropical metropolis of Singapore. Her work dances across disciplines and has been made and presented in Singapore, USA, Finland and India. She has worked with seniors, buskers, her grandparents, cafeteria staff, migrant workers and friends in rural India; in a Finnish forest, a restored thrift store, the basement of an old electrical station, by a creek; given facials, embroidered chakras and braided hair. A current student in the MFA in art and social practice program at Portland State University, she is attending through a National Arts Council (Singapore) postgraduate scholarship. Michelle Tan is a writer and drama educator based in Singapore. As a playwright her work has been produced by several local theatre companies. A believer in challenging the limits of language and form, Michelle’s writing is a blend of lyricism and sharp edges, derived from the disparate pieces that make up the daily business of living.
